OK, so I turned the big 21 this past weekend. HA HA - I will never reveal my age. I have a lot of great friends out here in Georgia now. Some of them I have met from girlscouts, and others from my daughters school. Some I have met from church, and some from the internet.
I am so glad to have such wonderful friends here. They have been my lifesaver, and keep me going despite all that has happened this past year.

We went to dinner with my friends at Frontera Mex Mex. The girls had bought me a Calendar, and a new bedroom set for my bed. It is so pretty. I went to go buy my car, but the one I wanted, was sold. Just three days to late. So I will have to hold off till I find another car that I want.

So here are some of the pictures from my birthday. Thank you to those who came.

MLK DAY in the ATL

OK, so seeing how the girls and I live here in Atlanta we felt it was important to maybe get out and do something to support the man whose birthday we celebrate. I mean we get a day off and all. Martin Luther King Jr is an inspiration to us all. He should be honored every day with service to others for the service he provided to America. A true hero is someone who will put his own life on the line for what he believes in. Martin Luther King Jr, he is a hero.
The girls and I had planned to go to the 2PAC memorial to help clean up the memorial gardens, however, it was so freezing cold on Monday. SeKoixa was still recoving from an asthma attack she had on Friday, so I felt it was best to not go out in the cold with the kids. So we waited till later in the afternoon and went with my friend Kenya, and her son Tyler to the Auburn Ave festivities.

Auburn Ave is where MLK's house is located. They shut down the street every year and allow people to sell things, and do things, and have a parade. We were lucky to get great parking less than a block away. Not bad for someone who does not know a thing about where to park over there.

They were passing out free Coke Zero too! Yummy.

Because of how cold it was, we only did a little walking, and then hung out to watch the parade. Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy.

Did it again....

SeKoixa and Cymmone have done it again. They are both on the all A honor roll at their school. This is the second term in a row. So an entire semester of A's. I am so proud of the hard work that my girls do for me.

I have made it clear to them their number one thing for now is school, and nothing else matters. If they get good grades they get rewarded in being able to do other things. Last year we had problems with them both wanting to do homework. A certain someone seemed to enjoy thumping them in the forehead if they got frustrated or spelled a word wrong or asked a question or got the answer wrong. So neither of the kids wanted to do their homework.
I had spent so much time teaching my children that it is the most important thing, and that it is something fun, and not something to regret or hate. I try to keep them positive, cause I know I hated homework time, I would rather be playing. Once I prevented and found everyway I could to keep them from doing homework at his house they are back to enjoying homework time, and love learning.

Sleepover with Cousin

This weekend my sister in law asked if I could watch my niece, Yani. She is such a cutie. She also has two other children, my nephews, Savion and Paul. I was more than happy to have her come and spend the night, but wanted to make it a surprise to the girls.

SeKoixa and Cymmone were pleasantly surprised. To top of the Friday SeKoixa and Cymmone also came home with all A's on their report cards. So the first two terms they had all A's. I am one proud mother. I kept telling them there was a special surprise coming. When Yani arrived, the girls freaked out. Of course my little man, Savion, had to come in and give me a big hug too. He is just as silly as Cymmone is.

The girls had a wonderful time hanging out together, and despite some colds and coughs, we had a great time just playing games and watching movies, and shopping, and going to church. Here are a few pictures. They fell asleep in the car, which was so cute to me.

Roswell Ghost Tour

Well the day after Christmas Sekoixa and I were trying to think of something interesting and fun to do. Without Cymmone in the house, it offers us an opportunity to do more big girl things. So I talked it over with SeKoixa and we decided to go on a Ghost Tour in Roswell, GA. http://www.roswellghosttour.com/

What an interesting night. We learned a lot of history about the city of Roswell, and it's mining history. We learned about Roswell King and the family of Teddy Roosevelt - President of the United States. All in all, it was quite an experience. We arrived a little late, and found ourselves behind on the tour. So we quickly caught up, and found them down the street at a huge white house belonging to the Bullock Family - which is the late Teddy Roosevelt's mother. I love the big white southern homes that you find out here. I need to go out and take more pictures.

We continued on the tour and learned about a cemetary in the area, and then learned about 400 people who were convicted of treason and sent away. While learning about the 400 people, we were standing at the memorial, and all of a sudden the lights kept coming off and on. It was quite an experience. Freaked us out. When we got home, we checked the video and pictures I took for any strange things, and sure enough, we got a few. I am going to have to check out more ghost tours in this great state of ours. I hear there are a lot of them because of the civil war etc.

Here is the video of what we saw..
